8 weekly sessions with 2 additional free monthly visits for a total 4 months.

The JA Method group sessions offer a unique blend of education, reflection, and community support—all grounded in the same core pillars: calorie awareness, mindful eating, and psychological tools for lasting change. You’ll learn to bring structure to your meals without restriction, reconnect with your body’s natural cues, and navigate the thoughts and emotions that often sabotage progress.

Each weekly 1-hour Zoom session (Friday at 7:00 PM) introduces a new mindful eating skill or mindset strategy. Between sessions, you’ll practice what you’ve learned and log your meals using the JA Method app—a simplified system that doesn’t require weighing food. I’ll have access to your log and use it to guide you in building structure around the foods you enjoy. This is not about following a rigid plan—it’s about creating habits that fit your life.

What makes the group setting powerful is the connection: hearing from others who are facing similar struggles, learning from their solutions, and realizing you are not alone. The group becomes a safe, supportive space to share wins and setbacks, reflect, and grow.

We value privacy and confidentiality, and while sessions are recorded for those who can’t attend live, what you share remains within the group. You’ll get the most out of the program by showing up, practicing the weekly tasks, and staying engaged—not perfectly, but consistently.

We meet weekly for 8 weeks, followed by monthly support sessions for 2 months to help you maintain momentum. This is not a quick fix—it’s a shift in the way you eat, think, and live.

The JA method helps you develop a realistic understanding of how portion sizes relate to calorie intake, empowering informed food choices without obsessive tracking. You’ll learn to enjoy all the foods you love while becoming more aware of portions that support your goals.

Hi! I am Dr. Jumana Antoun

I am a professor of family physician and clinical weight loss practitioner. I am the founder of the JA Method for weight loss.

I have struggled with obesity ever since I was a teenager. After discovering a method that is flexible, applicable, and easy to commit to, I am passionate about spreading this information to others to help them reach the healthiest version of themselves.
